Snoop Dogg Is ‘Cream’ of the Crop on Twitter Top Tracks

Veteran rapper Snoop Dogg enters at No. 1 on Billboard + Twitter Top Tracks with “Peaches N Cream,” featuring Charlie Wilson. The Pharrell-produced song arrives in the penthouse thanks to heavy Twitter chatter about the track, which Snoop performed on the season finale of Fox TV’s Empire on March 18. “Peaches N Cream” reunites Snoop with Pharrell who, as one-half of The Neptunes, produced two of his biggest hit singles (and was the featured artist on both): “Drop It Like It’s Hot” (No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2004) and “Beautiful” (No. 6; 2003). Wilson has previously appeared on two of Snoop’s Hot 100 hits: “Beautiful” and “Signs” (the latter was also produced by The Neptunes).

“Low” to High: Punk pop band All Time Low races to a No. 5 debut with “Kids in the Dark,” the latest single from the group’s Future Hearts, due April 7. The track’s music video has nabbed more than 665,000 views to date on YouTube and received an extra boost on Twitter after BBC Radio 1 named the song “Track of the Day” on March 18. “Kids” also sprints to a strong start on Hot Rock Songs, where it enters at No. 24.

Sheeran Matches a Legend: Despite suffering a 7-8 dip, Ed Sheeran‘s “Thinking Out Loud” spends an 18th week in the top 10 on Top Tracks, tying John Legend‘s “All of Me” for the longest such run in the tally’s nine-month history. “Loud” began its top 10 record with a 45-1 jump on the survey dated Oct. 25 and has spent the last 15 weeks in the chart’s upper tier. Wide crossover appeal has helped Sheeran’s longevity, as the track logged eight straight frames at No. 2 on the Hot 100.

Derulo Debuts: Jason Derulo arrives at No. 12 with “Want to Want Me,” the lead single from his upcoming album. “Want” scored 1.3 million streams for the week ending Mar. 15, according to Nielsen Music, aiding the song’s No. 45 debut on the Hot 100. It also came crashing in at No. 22 on the Pop Songs chart, the highest debut for a male artist in over two years: Justin Timberlake’s “Suit & Tie,” featuring Jay Z, was the last highest debut by a man. It arrived at No. 14 on the Pop Songs chart dated Feb. 2, 2013. “Want To Want Me” marks Derulo’s second appearance on Top Tracks: “Wiggle,” featuring Snoop Dogg, climbed to No. 9 in July 2014.
