Activists, Diplomats to Gather for Ceremony Honoring Hundreds of Enslaved People Who Died in Shipwreck Off South Africa’s Coast

After the remains from a 1794 slave ship was discovered off South Africa’s shores, a ceremony has been arranged in order to honor the more than 200 enslaved men and women who drowned at sea.

The ceremony will take place on Tuesday on Cape Town’s popular Clifton beach.

It will be a solemn ceremony and a grim reminder of the dark history that so many African ancestors were forced to experience.

FBI Admits It Uses Fake Companies to Fly Surveillance Over U.S. Cities

An AP investigation has forced the FBI to admit that it uses at least 13 dummy corporations with planes like the one shown above to fly low-and-slow aerial spy missions over U.S. cities, capturing video and sometimes cellular signals from 30 cities in 11 states in a recent month.

FIFA President Sepp Blatter Has Resigned

Last week, FIFA President Sepp Blatter was re-relected to a fifth term, despite all of the recent controversy swirling around soccer’s governing body. Now, less than a week into that term, Blatter has announced his resignation from FIFA and revealed that a special election will be held soon to appoint his successor.
