NASA: Earth Likely On Track For 3 Feet of Sea Level Rise

Sea levels worldwide rose an average of nearly 3 inches (8 cm) since 1992, the result of warming waters and melting ice, a panel of NASA scientists said on Wednesday.

In 2013, a United Nations panel predicted sea levels would rise from 1 to 3 feet (0.3 to 0.9 meters) by the end of the century. The new research shows that sea level rise most likely will be at the high end of that range, said University of Colorado geophysicist Steve Nerem.

Bending light and blowing glass is visually electric

The craft of making neon lights is always so fun for me to see. The way the glass curves and the way the light fills up the tube is like seeing magic light up. Even better is to see the entire process of a neon sign get made, Stray Matter shows Andrew Hibbs at work and it’s pretty awesome to see the flames and electricity and careful cutting of glass all in action.

Legendary NBA Dunker Darryl Dawkins Dies

Darryl Dawkins was once summoned in the Philadelphia 76ers’ locker room to come meet a celebrity who wanted to meet the man known for dunking with backboard-breaking force.

The guest was Grammy Award winner Stevie Wonder. The entertainer is blind, yet even he could tell there was something very unique about Dawkins’ game.
