Tiger Woods Is Ready to Make His PGA Tour Return

The struggling Tiger Woods will return to the PGA Tour this December for the Hero World Challenge. It’s been a tough three years for one of golf’s greatest: he’s currently ranked 831 in the world, a far cry from 2015′s 416 and 2014′s 32 rankings.

Woods hasn’t played in a PGA tournament since the Wyndham Championship in August 2015, thanks to a series of back surgeries. His return was originally slated for the Safeway Open three weeks ago, however Woods pulled out saying “my game is vulnerable and it’s not where it needs to be.” Today, the 40-year-old athlete released a statement saying:

I am excited to make my return at the Hero World Challenge at Albany and play in this terrific tournament. This is our 18th year, and every year we put together a top field that showcases the best golfers from the previous season. Albany is an outstanding setting, and I can’t thank Hero MotoCorp enough for their support of the tournament and my foundation.

Although the field will be missing number one ranked golfer, Jason Day, the annual tournament will still feature competitive names like championship winners Dustin Johnson, Henrik Stenson and Jimmy Walker, defending champion Bubba Watson, and 2014 Hero World Challenge winner Jordan Spieth.

Tiger will tee-off on December 1. How do you think he’ll perform?
