It’s not surprising to anyone who has lived in or visited a major American metropolitan region that the nation’s cities tend to be organized in their own particular racial pattern. In Chicago, it’s a north/south divide. In Austin, it’s west/east. In some cities, it’s a division based around infrastructure, as with Detroit’s 8 Mile Road. In other cities, nature—such as Washington, D.C.’s Anacostia River—is the barrier. Sometimes these divisions are man-made, sometimes natural, but none are coincidental.

White House Seriously Considering Banning Laptops on All International Flights to the US

Following a ban of in cabin electronic devices that are “larger than a smartphone” on flights coming to the US from locations in eight majority-Muslim countries, it appears the White House wants to expand its curious policy. This morning, U.S. Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly told Fox News’ Chris Wallace that he was considering applying the ban to all incoming international flights.

British Airways Grounds Flights Following Global IT Problems [Updated]

It’s a holiday weekend, but British Airways passengers aren’t getting the relaxing time off that they’d hoped for. Following a “major IT system failure” that “is causing very severe disruption to our flight operations worldwide,” the airline says that flights will have to be grounded until the problems are resolved.
