Michael Jordan Is Returning to Baseball

Michael Jordan won’t be rounding the bases anytime soon, but he’s finally getting the call up to the majors.

According to the Miami Herald, Jordan is part of a group of about 16 investors, led by Derek Jeter and New York businessman Bill Sherman, that is purchasing Major League Baseball’s Miami Marlins. Current owner Jeffrey Loria agreed to sell the franchise for $1.2 billion.

Jeter is contributing a reported $25 million to the purchase and is being handed the keys to the franchise. It’s unclear how much Jordan is putting in, but between the presence of both he and Jeter, expect heavy Jordan Brand influence in South Beach moving forward.
