In place of a piston engine, it has a Rolls-Royce Allison gas turbine that spins at 54,000 rpm.
The two-speed automatic transmission routes power to the rear wheel over a lengthy 68-inch wheelbase, which should contribute to stability at the 420RR’s terminal velocity, whatever that actually is.
MTT says that it is “faster than you will ever dare to go,” but an earlier, less-powerful version of the bike achieved 227 mph with only 320 horsepower.
