The next phase of Kobe Bryant‘s post-NBA career is taking shape. Bryant is teaming up with the Sports Academy to create the MAMBA Sports Academy, a 100,000 square-foot palace in Thousand Oaks, California that, according to the former Lakers star, is “a natural expansion of my commitment to educating and empowering the next generation of kids through sports.” The press release describes it as an “academy to a holistic, multi-sport training for young athletes.”
There’s even an eSports training ground, which probably won’t look like your college dorm room, and a Gracie Barra Jiu-Jitsu school.
Kobe explained that he’s going to “infuse a little ‘Mamba Mentality’ into their programs,” which makes us think that maybe he’ll be teaching some new and creative ways for cursing out teammates.
Or, perhaps he’s teaching the athletes of tomorrow how to constructively criticizemanagement. Let’s just hope he isn’t asked to teach swimming.
