Super photorealistic drawings are always fun to see because they tickle your brain into thinking things that you know are fake could possibly maybe be real because they just look so similar. Here’s a drawing from Dino Tomic showing a leaf drawing with a pile of other leaves. It’s hard to tell which one is fake!
A 500-year-old engraving may show Leonardo da Vinci playing a musical instrument called a lira da braccio. If verified, the engraving would represent just the third contemporary depiction of da Vinci (created while he was alive) still in existence.
I love occasionally blowing my brain up and nothing does it quite like when I see something that looks real but is actually a perfect photorealistic drawing. Take this glass of water, it’s drawn with such skill and shading and angling and plays on your perspective so well that I feel like I can reach out and take a sip.
