FIFA President Sepp Blatter Has Resigned

Last week, FIFA President Sepp Blatter was re-relected to a fifth term, despite all of the recent controversy swirling around soccer’s governing body. Now, less than a week into that term, Blatter has announced his resignation from FIFA and revealed that a special election will be held soon to appoint his successor.

Could Corruption Probe Finally Take Down FIFA’s ‘Untouchable’ Ruler?

Sepp Blatter is arguably the most powerful man in world sports and certainly its greatest survivor.

Now comes the biggest challenge of his 17-year rule of FIFA: dealing with the U.S. and Swiss criminal investigations into corruption among soccer officials, including some who were sipping drinks with Blatter in the hours and days before being arrested on Wednesday morning in Zurich.
