The glass frog is a BIG fan of transparency, in the sense that you can see all of its internal organs through its belly skin.
The craft of making neon lights is always so fun for me to see. The way the glass curves and the way the light fills up the tube is like seeing magic light up. Even better is to see the entire process of a neon sign get made, Stray Matter shows Andrew Hibbs at work and it’s pretty awesome to see the flames and electricity and careful cutting of glass all in action.
MIT’s Mediated Matter Group made a video showing off their first of its kind optically transparent glass printing process. It will soothe your soul.
