Nike’s ‘PlayStation’ PG2s are like a DualShock for your feet

Nike has never been afraid to use different technologies to experiment with its sneakers. After all, this is the company that brought you the Mag and HyperAdapt, two shoes powered by auto-lacing mechanisms. And while its latest basketball silhouette isn’t as tech-forward as those, there’s still plenty to like here, especially if you’re both a sneakerhead and an avid gamer. Meet the PG2, Paul George’s new signature shoe, which Nike created in collaboration with Sony and was inspired by the PlayStation. Sorry, Xbox, maybe next time.

Gang Leader Warns Against Wearing Nike Cortez

An indictment unsealed in federal court in Boston on Thursday includes guidelines for members of the MS-13 gang on what sneakers not to wear. Court papers describe a December 2015 meeting held by leadership of the gang’s “East Coast Program” that was secretly recorded by the government. During that meeting, Edwin Manica Flores, the alleged leader of the MS-13 East Coast Program, instructed members not to wear the Nike Cortez, a shoe associated with the gang.

WHEN NIKE HONCHO Phil Knight commissions his swoosh-stripe Mount Rushmore somewhere in the wilds of the Pacific Northwest, the Air Max 95 will be one of the shoes that will be carved into the Precambrian granite outcropping. The Air Max 95 isn’t the best Nike runner ever made, it’s arguably (sorry Air Jordan junkies) the best Nike shoe ever made, an object burrowed deeply into the popular culture.
