The Cannabis Industry Made $1.2 Billion in January

The cannabis industry registered $1.23 billion in investments for January, according to Viridian Cannabis Deal Tracker. The total represents an almost 600 percent growth from the $178 million in the first five weeks of 2017. While it’s no secret that the cannabis industry has turned out to be a money-making machine, what made last month’s numbers even more remarkable was that they nearly eclipsed the investments of $1.29 billion from all of last year.

Stanford has developed a roadside breathalyzer for weed

Blood, breath and urine. These are the holy trinity of determining alcohol intoxication but are virtually useless when measuring the amount of THC in your system thanks the the molecule’s ability to remain present in bodily fluids for up to a month after consumption. However, atechnological breakthrough from Stanford University could soon enable law enforcement to accurately determine how blunted you are as soon as they pull you over.

FDA Is Taking Tips From Canada About Regulating Medical Marijuana

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) reportedly knows what’s up. Following the revelation in April that the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) was considering a federal rescheduling of marijuana, the FDA seems to be looking to our northern neighbors for tips on how best to regulate what’s now responsible for the coolest gym in the world (i.e. one you can be baked in).
