Empowerment and the Importance of Giving Back

People often ask me how I have the time to be working with so many charitable causes. When people perceive that I am intently focused on projects like the Crescent Moon Foundation, the Unstoppable Foundation and Junior Achievement, they are very curious about my reasoning. The reason is very simple: I always keep in mind that I would not be the person I am today if it were not for the experiences and opportunities along the way. The people I came across fostered my enjoyment of the pursuit of my potential, and I want to do the same for others around me.

Amazon taps ‘Boondocks’ creator for alt-history show ‘Black America’

Amazon could be getting another alternate history show of the likes of The Man in the High Castle. A series called Black America is under development and it’s centered around a reality where southern states were granted to African Americans as reparations for slavery. Set in the present day, the sovereign nation of New Colonia — made up of what was previously Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama — is outpacing a rapidly declining US, a country it’s had a tumultuous relationship with over the past 150 years.

Signs of Alzheimer’s Detected in Brains of Chimps For First Time

Humans are the only animals known to develop Alzheimer’s disease, an age-related brain disorder that causes impaired cognitive functioning and other behavioral problems. Or at least, that’s what we thought. For the first time ever, researchers are claiming to have found signs of the disease in the brains of elderly chimps—a discovery that could yield new insights into the dreaded disorder.
