THE WORLD GOT its first glimpse of the Nike Air Mag in 1989, when Marty McFly sported a pair in Back to the Future. In the intervening 27 years, there’s been plenty of speculation about when (and if) science fiction would ever become fact. Then, last fall, Nike casually dropped a bomb: Yes, power-lacing shoes were possible. In fact, not only were they possible, they were actually going to be something you and I could buy sometime in the near future.

Apple’s Brief Hits the FBI With a Withering Fact Check

APPLE’S LATEST BRIEF in its battle with the FBI over the San Bernardino iPhone offered the tech company an opportunity to school the Feds over their misinterpretation and misquotations of a number of statutes and legal cases they cited as precedent in their own brief last week. Many viewed Apple’s arguments as a withering commentary on the government’s poor legal acumen.

Michael Mann Is Developing Another ‘Heat’ Movie

As far as heist films go, there is probably no movie more beloved than director Michael Mann‘s 1995 crime masterpiece Heat. Not only was it the first (and only good) movie to put Robert De Niro and Al Pacino on screen together (they were both in The Godfather II, but not at the same time), it contains an epic bank robbery/shootout scene that I dare you to top in terms of intensity. It cemented the Michael Mann style.
